12세기에 건축되어 데휴바르트의 웨일스 왕자들Welsh princes of Deheubarth의 거점으로 사용되었다.
티위 강River Tywi이 내려다보이는 전략적 언덕에 자리 잡은 이 성은 석조 성채와 견고한 성벽을 갖춘 고전적인 모트 앤 베일리 양식motte-and-bailey design으로 지었다.
역사적으로 지역 권력 투쟁에서 중요한 역할을 했으며, 이후 역사적 중요성을 보존하기 위해 부분적으로 복원되었다.
Castell Dinefwr is a medieval castle located in Carmarthenshire, Wales. It was originally built in the 12th century and served as a stronghold for the Welsh princes of Deheubarth. The castle features a classic motte-and-bailey design with a stone keep and fortified walls, positioned on a strategic hill overlooking the River Tywi. Throughout history, it played a significant role in regional power struggles and was later partially restored to preserve its historical importance.
